October is all about embracing Autumn, and while the prospect of an Indian summer still occasionally looms, I’m ready to indulge the new season and the colour palettes it brings. Dulux is one of the first off the mark with its new set of colours, delivering us with Heart Wood as the hero shade to take us from now through to 2018 and heading up a set of colours inspired by the warmth of wood and nature.
Meanwhile, the much anticipated IKEA x Hay collaboration has now launched and brings with it a similar nod to muted, earthy colours.
While the Dulux palette didn’t immediately grab me, having spent some time exploring different earthier colours I’m really enjoying how they work with a deep navy like Stiffkey Blue, which I love and have used in my living room.
In this moodboard, I’ve used that blue as a backdrop and mixed it with a tranquil lilac. Layered on top, I’ve looked at mix of dark yet muted red and green with some delicate calming pink accents and a mix of textures to create a chic autumnal living room look.
